and wtf is a rally point btw?... not about rerouting ships to one point to the next at once?
no those are waypoints - and those aren't needed much at all.

If you have played any other land based rts game, then you know that every building has a flag. That flag is your rally point, and everthing that comes out of that building moves to that flag. I myself only started using these in every hw2 game i play, last month. I've known about them forever, but usually i thought 'i'm too buisly to use them'. Well now its 'i'm too buisy, not to use them'. I'd estimate that in a 20minute game, this saves me about 2 minutes of pure selecting ships and moving (thats 10% savings, ie: a good deal!).

To set a rally point, select your carriers&mothership, and then press [ctrl]+[R]. Now click to where you want to set your rally point. You can now see that cool little flag on the map. All your ships that pop out of your ms will now move to this location. I use this to auto move fighters or frigs i'm producing towards the battle.

If you want collectors to 'auto harvest' a certain asteriod, you must use the 'rally OBject' command instead. Do the same thing using [ctrl]+[P]. While Holding that in, you must 'RiGhT! click' on the asteriod you want all your collectors to harvest. (remember that the first 6 collectors that you get for free need to be manualy told to harvest)

Since these key combo's are semi-shit, and you have to actually hold ctrl+p in while u right click that asteriod i suggest you use the buttons that on the In-game Command Menu instead. On the 2nd page of the special commands menu you'll find the waypoint buttons (bottom left). You can press that lightning bolt button, or press the ['] key to get to the 2nd page of commands.

The set rally point button is on the bottom row, in the middle. The set rally Object button is just to right of that. All you'll have to do is, select ms/cc click that command button, and then click on the place (or asteriod for rally Object) you want ships to move to (or harvest).

You'll want to use rally Object command for the first 2mins to have collectors auto-harvest, after that you'll want to use the rally point command to auto-move ships to the front lines. I use this to auto-harvest, to auto-move ships to the front lines with the rest of my teams fleet, and to auto-move either into or nxt to the location of a battle once a big swarm battle has started.

-and as far as what makes me aroused in games - turning game around after 'gg' has already been said. This is obvously caused by me doing 2min afk strat after i see 'gg' to go watch pornz, when i come back i'm extra energetic to go do huge comeback ;)

Hid,

A few post back when Cloked was talking about rally points, could you extract and move that to the help channel? I also have something to add i found out the hard way. When setting a rally objet you have to set it to one object. This is bad for collectors if that one object is a rock that only 2 collectors can fit on. The collectors will sit an wait for room on that rock instead of finding another rock to harvest.

A neat thing is if you set the rally object to a rock directly below the carrier everything built will group up at that object. So fighters will move as close to that rock as they can and bunch up below the carrier in effect masking there numbers from the enemy unless the enemy zooms in reall close and tries to count them. One of the things i miss about cataclysm is you could alt bandbox enemy ships and it would put up a list of what was there similar to the "I" list you can put up for yourself.

Yea, if you spot one waiting you gotta select all your harvestors and press the harvest key - this will redirect the wait line to open asteriods.

I believe there's no real way to cancel rally points. Just set the rally object on the production ship itself, it works good enough.
