My thought process: i'll torp; no they'll expect torp, i'll go arm frigs; no, i don't want arm frig standoff vs. hid/cern, i'll go bc; no, they're gonna jump too soon, i'll get sy and go double dd; no, they capped my first dd, and killed my ms/sy, out of ideas, build ships and RUs ...

yo hid, watched a bunch of your vids and noticed somin. You have each emp scout attack a different int? Why? Takes 2 emp to disable 1 int, and in the last few games seems like a lot of your emp has just been going off - while not disabling anything.

Also i haven't passed much ru in a while, but after watching a game you had - giving ru to your bc guy when angle-dd landed on his patches, really helped the team out. It gave your bc guy enough cash to counter the dd's with frigs, and continue launching bc's to the front lines.

well, emp is supposed to disable ints with 1 go, if done properly, thats why i send them to different unit, but like you noticed they don't always work even if the scout isn't damaged.

when a scout emps, they shoot them twice, making ints actually freeze up if both hit, but some of the shots only happen once, making imcomplete emp (if im right. but it may be due to emp getting dropped too far from ints when they move and turn around). and it actually happens somewhat often in those situation when ints keep moving around, so i might just start emp'ing them with 2 units to same location... it kinda sucks to see them not work in places where they get half emp'ed which makes no effect at all.

as for that game, the best move could've been a fast double dd (but i was thinking ddd would be a bit of a cheat in that map like i whispered at early moments, so we never thought about doing it) or massive bomber raid or simply getting so many ion frigs while moving up to dark's patch, but anything bigger than that probably had same fate on dark.

i mean, a 6 min hyper torp (or sending your first dd actually) worked real good there  not only we let go of dark, anything that hypers to our base was just allowed for a clear go... if we lost it that way... we'd be pulling some good hairs...and made the vid about 3 times more funny.

Takes 1 emp:

1 scout targeting an int in a group of ints/bombers/pulsars:

Everything successfully emped except for one pulsar:

I think it takes 1 emp blast from each of the 3 scouts in the group to completely disable the ints, but sometimes ints move away fast enough to evade one of the blasts. This happens alot when the ints are flying at full speed in one direction and don't slow down to attack or dock.

From my experience its about as easy to evade these 'one scout' emp attacks as it is to evade hiig emp attacks. Yes one scout group does drop 2 emp bombs, and if both emp bombs hit then the target gets disabled. But there's a 2 second delay from the first emb bomb to the 2nd emp bomb - often times the 2nd one will never hit - because i evaded or just cause the emp missed. Yea slow corvs are easy to emp, so you could use 1 emp at a time, but int are just too fast to hope they dont move durring that 2 second delay. If you use 2 scouts at once, there's a 100% chance if ur scouts dont get attacked - that they'll emp somin. I usually retarget my 2 scouts to attack the biggest clump of fighters so i can disable as many as possible. Just from the last few games we've played lately, seems like I've been able to emp large numbers of fighters at once, while only seeing 2-3 of my own int getting disabled.

Was really suprised at your common fighter micro. Seemed like you usually assaigned targets and left your swarm alone for the nxt minute. Usually durring fighter battles, I'm jockeying every int around to evade or kill your scouts, while microing my own emp to death. (mainly durring the first minute or two of battle, as that usually decides things.)

heh, cloaked feels funny how i actually suck  well, i do play a bit relaxed... (not an excuse) but, not as damn concentrated and it's obvious to spot that im not always too focused by seeing the vids (but basically those come from stupid chatters i make... or when things are pretty busy)

i do leave swarm alone when i have to manage bigger ships which can be a bit more important to micro because they are a bit more fragile to micro'ing than fighters imo and once they're screwed, your int swarm doesn't help. while, for fighters you can certainly micro to save a few ints as a whole, i just dont find time in later part of the game. but of course in a 1v1 swarm fight, i'll do some micro as much as i can. but anyway, i already told you, you should be better than me :) so there, you are more concentrated imo, i somewhat felt that in games.

lol, i was mol thinking - wtf is hid doing, isn't he supposed to be playing with those fighters some more??? While i watch you take 2 mins figuring out your simple build instead. But yea i don't micro int much 15-20mins into a game once the cap ships are slugging. I do use production ship rally points a lot though, which frees up a ton of my time from moving units into position. I noticed you were always spending time moving ships from your production ships into the battle. Same with collectors, I just set my rally points to ru patches, and i dont have to tell every collector where to harvest (sides the origional 6colls).
